Which size OTZ is best for me?
Our sizing chart is the best general guide for OTZ shoes. A perfect size chart for all styles and feet does not exist. For OTZ, our shoes are based on the natural contours of your foot with an oblique toe and a slightly wider shape. If your size falls between two EU sizes on our chart, we will recommend the smaller size.
How wide are OTZ Shoes?
OTZ shoes are wider than the standard shoe widths. For women, OTZ’s width is between the standard B and the wide D. For men, OTZ is between the standard D and the wide 2E. All OTZ shoes & boots use the same shape (last) so this width is common for all our products.
What are zero drop shoes?
Zero drop shoes is a term that indicates that the heel is the same height as the ball of your foot. This is how you stand naturally with bare feet. Zero Drop allows the foot to be level with ground with no slope from the heel to the forefoot. Some experts believe that the significantly elevated heels in most shoes can aggravate existing foot, leg, back, and joint pains, and in some cases cause injuries.
Are all OTZ Shoes zero drop?
All OTZ shoes available on our site are designed to be zero drop, or extremely close to zero drop. This includes the insole. For most feet, removing the OTZ insoles may achieve a closer degree of zero drop, though the difference is slight. In general the majority of running shoes have about a 10mm drop. OTZ’s vary from complete zero drop to 1mm, heel to toe.
How do I clean my OTZ Shoes?
We suggest that you hand wash your shoes using cold water, gentle detergent and plenty of time to air dry. Start by getting together a bucket/large bowl/sink, gentle detergent, a soft bristle brush/tooth brush, and two soft rags. Begin by pulling out the removable insoles then proceed below based on the upper material.
For canvas, waxed canvas and Italian linen uppers:
For leather, suede, nubuck and full grain uppers:
How do I clean my OTZ removable insoles with cork top sheet?
Pull your insoles out of your shoes. In a small bowl make a paste out of a small amount of room temp water and either baking soda or Borax. Don’t use hot water. Using your fingers spread the paste on the tops of both insoles, then use a toothbrush to make gentle circulate motions. Do not press hard, just gentile circular motions. The paste will turn brown as it pulls out the dirt and grim. Gently rinse off the top of the insoles in a sink, and clean up. Let them sit for a couple of days to air dry. Please do not put the foot beds in direct sunlight or in the dryer. For leather top sheet insoles, use mild detergent instead of baking soda/borax and do not run under water to rinse. Use a cloth to dry.
Breaking in Period
Our shoes are designed for total comfort. They may feel snug at first, but please allow a breaking in period to allow our foot bed to gradually compress and conform to your foot, as well as for the leather or suede upper to adapt to your foot’s contours. The more you wear them, the more comfortable they get. When choosing our shearling lined styles, or if you’re in between sizes, it’s recommended to select one size up for an ideal fit.
Without a universal footwear size chart that is shared between all footwear brands, the best and ideal way to measure your shoe size is using a ruler that has a CM marker. Place this ruler up against a wall, place your foot on top of it while having your heel against the same wall. The CM that is shown from your longest toe, should be the most accurate sizing of your foot. Using this CM you can easily convert to the corresponding EU size.
